Top Ten Tuesday #16 : My All Time Favorites

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday. This meme is created and hosted at The Broke and The Bookish. Every week there is a new top ten list for bloggers to take part in and enjoy!

This week's topic was literally torture! How can someone pick their top TEN favourite books! I might have spend 30 minutes in front of my book self staring at my books, trying to decide which to pick.....

The PJO series is very dear to my heart. I don't know why, probably because I was about the same age as Percy in the first book when I started reading it. It completely drew me in. Each book is filled with humour, adventure, fun and relatable charactares that you'll love to death!

The 39 clues is probably the first book series I ever read. I started it when I was 8 and finished it when I was 11 ( 4-5 years ago, it counts right? Oh,well..). It's so much fun and I recommend it to anyone interested in the middle grade genre. It's full of mystery, riddles, humour and adventure. In these books we follow Amy and Dan Cahill as they play a dangerous game of treasure hunt with the rest of their (very big) family.

This book put me in a book-hangover. Literally. I couldn't read another book for almost a month without comparing it to this one. Probably my favourite post-apocalyptic book.

I know many people seem to have problems with this series but I honestly consider it flawless. It introduced me to the YA genre and swept me off my feet with its beautiful writing, complex world and amazing characters.

The first (and unfortunately only) book by Holly Black I've read and an instant favourite! It has stood out from all the other vampire books I've read (and I've read a lot).

I can only consider a book as a favourite when it can mess with my emotions but still manage to make me love it. Tfios made me cry, laugh, squeal and fangirl in many occasions!

From all the contemporaries I've read in the last 4 years this is one that has stuck in my mind and makes me grin everytime I think about it! It's just so cute and fluffy!

It's creepy and dark, full of twists in every chapter, but you're going to love it! At least I did! I read Mara Dyer in one sitting, finishing it at about 2 a.m(which wasn't the best idea since I had school the next day) and i loved it! It played with my mind, made me smile and even creeped me out in some occasions. It was amazing! .....plus, Noah Shaw!

My favourite middle grade book! Roahl Dahl was my favourite author when I was younger and Witches is a book very dear to me. I must have re-read it at least 7-8 times! Never gets boring!

And the newest addition to my favourites self! Cinder is my favorite fairytale retelling. I've actually mentioned it so many times in my previous posts that I don't think there is a need to explain why it's on this list! Also, I finally wrote a review for it! Yay!

So which books do you consider all time favorites?

  1. The 5th Wave, Cinder, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and Anna and the French Kiss are all so great! I recently got The Coldest Girl in Coldtown from the library so I'm hoping to read that one soon. I hope you have a great week; I'm a new follower! :)

  3. Hurray for Cinder! I adore the entire Lunar Chronicles series so much. And it's good to see more recognition for Coldest Girl in Coldtown! I read that for a class on writing YA fiction about a year ago, and really enjoyed it. Great list!

    1. Thank you! It took me a while to finally read Cinder but boy did I regret waiting so long to do so! I can't wait to read the next books! Hope their as amazing as the first book! And, I agree, The Coldest Girl in Coldtown should definitely get more recognition than it does :)

    1. Aww thank you :) I can't wait for the tv show either! Although I have been trying to keep my expectations low, with all the set pictures floating around the web and the excitement from the cast itself I've been getting more and more excited for it!

  5. My all time favorites include Harry Potter, The Lunar Chronicles, Anna and the French Kiss, and the Perks of Being a Wallflower. I also love Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.

I've never read 39 Clues. I've never even heard of it.

Great list! I'll definitely be checking out some of the ones that I haven't read yet.

    1. Thank you! I really need to get around to reading Harry Potter soon! I'm actually picking up Me and Earl and the Dying Girl soon since the movie is coming out too and I don't want to watch it without having read the book. You should really try out the 39 clues if you like middle grade :)
